Junior IT Helpdesk Technician Job Description About the company Unilens is a constantly developing company and is highly ranked among the most significant and industry-leading companies in manufacturing and distributing ophthalmic lenses in Greece, such as eyeglasses and sun lenses. Since 2019, the company has been the official distributor of HOYA lenses in the country and is trading branded lenses of its own. Job opening As Unilens further expands its operations, the company is seeking for a Junior IT Helpdesk Technician to join its headquarters in Athens. Main Duties & Responsibilities The candidate will be responsible for: • Supporting users in Office 365 and other Software • Managing and reporting on the Helpdesk ticketing system as level 1 support • Supporting Senior IT Administrator in building, deploying, and maintaining systems, network, and security infrastructure and applications for its headquarters and its subsidiaries in Northern Greece and Crete • Performing minor hardware repairs and installing peripheral equipment • Supporting to monitor and maintain acceptable system performance • Troubleshooting application, operating system problems, identifying hardware failures • Checking the connectivity and operation of optical devices between the company and the optical stores • Assisting in any other related project/task • Other duties, as they may be assigned by the Senior IT Administrator Requirements A successful candidate should have: • Bachelor's Degree or being a Final Year student in Computer Science or a similar subject • Some experience in Helpdesk Ticketing Systems • Basic knowledge of networking, modern operating systems, virtualization, and web infrastructure • Basic knowledge of Windows Server operating systems • Basic knowledge of MS SQL database • Knowledge of Performance Tuning, Query Optimization, Client/Server • • • • Connectivity, and Database consistency checks • Organizational and analytical skills • Problem-solving attitude • Excellent communication skills • Interest in continuous learning and updating knowledge • Very good command of both Greek and English language • Any IT-related professional certifications/qualifications will be considered an asset • Military obligation fulfilled Useful • Basic Web development/scripting knowledge  • Knowledge of Azure / Office 365, Esx, storage systems, Hyperv servers • Knowledge of iOS and macOS operating systems Benefits The company offers a competitive compensation package and opportunities for continuous growth and development.
